Erosive wear

The term erosion is well known to many people. Think of avalanches or the Grand Canyon. That is exactly what happens with erosive wear: the sanding of a solid or liquid substance (counter material) against the base material. The angle of incidence of these dust particles on the surface also determines the degree of wear. Erosive wear of (machine) parts also occurs in industry. For example, the sanding sand in a dredging pump or steam through a valve.
